Way back on Saturday, Oct. 29th, my parents and I went up to Silver Lake to celebrate the fact that I don't have to work on Saturdays anymore and can do activities like such as hang out in nature and as one final adventure before the snow flies. We did not accomplish the later as flakes started falling shortly after we arrived. We attempted to have a picnic, but decided to eat in the car after 0.2 seconds at the picnic table.
We braved the elements and had a lovely walk around the lake.
We also learned that the very first Pioneer Day Celebration was held there 10 years after the pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley. It's pretty impressive that they brought all of the items/animals/people listed below all the way up Big Cottonwood Canyon to celebrate making it through so many other canyons.
