Birthday Weekend O' Fun

My birthday fell on a Monday this year, so I went home on Saturday to celebrate with the folks. Before heading for home, I found pancakes (with chocolate chips), syrup, fresh fruit and scrambled eggs from the Beans on my doorstep. I love them a lot.

When I got to Murray we decided that the weather was much too nice to stay inside. The driving range was calling my name. A little fresh air was just what I needed that day. It was my best day at the range. Yeahyess. I think we need to come up with an official way to spell that, condo row crew. Even though it was my best day at the range, I am yet to hit the golf ball zamboni thing. My dad and I have an ongoing bet that whoever hits it first gets $20. We’ve had a few close calls, but no success. After the range, we were famished. We ate dinner at Tucci’s. Yup, I like that place. And don’t worry I ordered the same thing that I had the week before. Mmmmmm tortellini.

On Sunday my sweet Grandma Bartschi made a delicious birthday dinner. The table was covered with birthday confetti and the “You Are Special Today” plate…aka the red plate. I’ve always loved that plate, for obvious reasons, but mostly because if you are special today, this one day, what are you the rest of the days? Average? Adequate? Maybe I will market a “You Are Marginal Today” plate. My Grandma even had me wear a red sash with glitter writing that said, “Spoil Me It’s My Birthday.” *Pictured above with massive ice cream cake. I know what you are thinking, Douglas, “Like anyone needs to be reminded to spoil her.” Yeah, you are right. But they did it anyway. Evident by this new Mac Book that I am blogging on.

When I woke up on Monday, January 28th (I know—the day you were born the whole world mourned…wikipedia 1/28/86 if you are confused) my roommates had birthdayed the apartment. Complete with streamers, balloons, birthday banners, and a sign on the door. My boss and the other intern were sick that day. Too bad for them, but I didn’t have to go to work. Holla. Monday evening I went to dinner at Red Robin with the roomies and a few friends. Can you say FREE BIRTHDAY BURGER? Register online. After din din a few of my closest friends came over for a mini dance party and the best ice cream cake ever! Thanks Colette!

I love birthdays because it gives me an excuse to get together (or at least talk to) the people that mean the most to me. Awwww. Cue the music. Thanks everyone!
