Paper Faces on Parade

My first go at event planning was a success, if I do say so myself. We (Community Action Services and Food Bank) held a Winter Masquerade Ball on January 25th at the County Courthouse. We had around 400 tickets to sell, and we came close to selling out. The courthouse was beautiful and the costumes/formals/masks were amazing. This is the trophy winning couple for Best Costume.

This is my friend, Janae, and her dance partner doing a beautiful ballroom routine.

And you know it's a good party when thriller is involved...

Miss Utah USA and Miss Teen Utah USA volunteered to take tickets for the first two hours of the event. The ticket booth/Will Call was my baby for the evening, so I got to chill with them. They were a riot. One couple came up to the desk and asked what kind of dancing was happening upstairs (the ticket office was on the lower level and the dance was on the main level) and she said without missing a beat, “Interpretive.” HA!

Although I had a great time with those girls, the best part of the evening happened when they went upstairs to dance. Two of my roommates offered to stay and help me out and it didn’t take us long to notice that sparkly crown left unattended (I guess that would have been my responsibility) under the desk.
