Weekend Update

After literally passing out on the streets of downtown Salt Lake City on Wednesday and a brief meningitis scare, I was ready for the weekend. To celebrate the fact that I was still alive (don't worry, it wasn't as bad as I'm making it sound...but this is my blog so I can say whatever I want to) I passed a record 18 para sailers...para gliders...people floating about in the sky at the point of the mountain, and then had a lovely visit with Colette at her apartment in Orem.

We decided that we needed a little strength and nourishment from Cafe Rio. Apparently I needed it real bad. I exited my car and locked it in such a hurry that I didn't take the time to turn off my car and remove the keys from the ignition. My bad.

We were parked near a hardware store so we went in to use their phone book to call a locksmith. The helpful young man at the cash register suggested calling the Orem PD instead. This kid deserves a raise. He had the number to the police department practically memorized. How do you have a number practically memorized but not completely memorized you ask? You post it somewhere nearby so that it seems that you have it memorized when in reality you are reading it from said posted location. I didn't even know that the cops would do that. But sure enough about ten minutes later one of Orem's finest pulled up right next to my car and in the blink of an eye Moose was unlocked. So much excitement and we are only on Friday...

Saturday, I did a little laundry thanks mom and dad while watching the football game. It made me miss Provo real bad. It would have been a perfect day to be at the stadium with all of my people...luckily a good amount of my people have migrated to Salt Lake.

There is a show on the Food Network called Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The show came to Utah and featured a bunch of...diners, drive-ins and dives. One of said diners, drive-ins and dives is called Burger Bar. If that's not an appetizing name, I don't know what is. It's up in Roy, UT and some of our new friends had their hearts set on giving it a try. We all piled into the car...cozy...and made the journey to Roy.

I have never actually been to Roy and I do like to travel.
A mini vacation if you will. Here it is:

I think it technically falls into the drive-in category,
but dive is probably more accurate.

Not the best shake I've ever had, but let's be honest...
nothing can top La Beaus.

All in all, it was well worth the trek.
Don't knock it until you've tried it, right?
