Work Hard Play Hard

If you go on a hike on a Thursday, you can trick yourself into thinking it's a Saturday.

Roommate and I decided that it would be better to go on a hike along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail after work today, as opposed to sitting in traffic on Foothill. We wore glorious outfits. Les rocked a lime green t-shirt and I was working it in a t-shirt and capris that were practically the same color with hiking boots and white tube socks. Hot.

The trail was pretty steep and on the way down I realized that it's time for new boots. As attractive as these are, they are old and they gave me blisters. I think I will go for Merrells, unless anyone has a better idea.

As I mentioned before, the trail was fairly steep. We decided to go to the top of "whatever is around that bend." Turns out the biggest hill of the hike was around that bend. We named it Big Bertha. The view from the top was worth it. Hmmm...there's a mini Sunday School lesson for you. We sat up there for awhile eating our delicious snacks and talking about the meaning of life.

Wildlife was in abundance on the trail. We saw potato bugs, a white butterfly, a chipmunk, a little blue bird and a bunny. I asked Leslie what she would do if a bear walked onto the trail. Her answer can't be quoted here. But I can tell you that she would be dead. Click here to find out what you should actually do.

You make me laugh really hard. I like you Panda. That bear website seems like a hoax. I swear I've heard you don't want to climb trees because it traps you.

Yes, Merrill's are a great choice, but not the only one. Be sure to check out what your feet might need, ie: go to a reputable shoe place where the sales people actually know about the shoes they sell :) Good luck! See you tomorrow!
