Bull-er-vard

After a relaxing Sunday at Leslie's sister's house, we took off first thing Monday morning in the rental to experience New England in the Fall. We drove North from Ithaca up to Palmyra.
We made a pit stop in Aurora where Wells College (the movie Mona Lisa Smiles) is located. Who knew the finger lakes were so huge! This is Cayuga Lake:
My favorite thing about the drive was seeing all the barns. So quaint.

One of the buildings at Wells:
Our first stop in Palmyra was the Hill Cumorah. I didn't realize it was so far away from the Smith Farm.
The Palmyra LDS Temple:
The Smith Farm:

The Sacred Grove:
It was so nice to stroll trough the Sacred Grove with no one else around. I highly recommend going in the Fall. Absolutely beautiful. Click here to learn more about Joseph Smith and the events in LDS history that took place in Palmyra.
We didn't have much time in Palmyra because we also wanted to make it on the Maid of the Mist that day. The view of the falls from our hotel on the Canada side. Yes, this was an international trip.
We made it in time for the last tour of the day, thanks to Hertz NeverLost GPS. Smurfs:
This is possibly my favorite picture from the trip. Niagara is a strange little town. Lots of haunted houses and overpriced crap. I loved seeing the falls, but wouldn't recommend staying more than one night.
Tomorrow's post won't be quiet so picture heavy. The series of unfortunate events...
