When you get a new job, you get new clothes. This is just a fact of life. Similar to the first day of school. When you intend to buy a lot of new clothes, you go to the outlet mall in Park City. Especially if you intend to shop at stores like such as Banana Republic and GAP. They have great sales right now.
So that is what I did. I bought three new shirts, two cardigans (my office could be chilly), two tank tops to go under said cardigans, and a pair of shorts. I came home and promptly put them in the washing machine because that's what my mother always did when we got new clothes...they smell a little funky when you first buy them.
I used up the last of my All Free and Clear laundry detergent last weekend so I was going to take a scoop out of the giant thing of Sun sitting on the dryer but much to my surprise, it was
empty. So I looked in the little cupboard above the washing machine and found a bottle of Clorox with a purple lable. I had a roommate (Donelle) who bought Clorox everything. Kitchen cleaner, bathroom cleaner, wipes, etc. She explained that they were safe to use anywhere which is why upon seeing the deceiving purple label, I thought that I was using Clorox for COLORS. After pouring a generous amount of the stuff on my new wardrobe, I put the bottle down and saw "Try our new CLOROX FOR COLORS" on the back label. Are you KIDDING ME?I knew that it would bleach on contact. Even if I tried to rinse them out they would probably have bleach spots. So I let it go through the cycle. My mind was so fuzzy during that 45 minute block of time that I even called the GAP outlet to see if they would exchange it. HAHAHAHA stupid.
Turns out most of the dark colored shirts are still pretty close to their original color. A green
tank top had a rectangle of different fabric at the top...you know--an eyelet fabric type design--which is now a light blue but it goes with the green cotton...so whateva. Everything bleached evenly...NO SPOTS! The only real tragedy was my mint green cardigan. It is now the ugliest mustard yellow you have ever seen. (I know you think it's fine Meg, but I hate it) Mr. Moneys pulled through again and bought me a replacement. Thanks Dad!

HA HA. Your writing is so funny. I love it. I am sorry about the clothes though. That sucks! I can't wait for you to start your job. So excited for you.
oh Manders! Your face when I got home that day was priceless. Oh, I felt so bad for your disaster!
...and I love your new title and pic. Fun!
Oh! I can feel the stress you were under! I would have not been as calm as you were though! The thing about being a stylist, is we deal with bleach A LOT. ;) So we learn ways around bleach disasters too. You could always die the cardigan a different color. Maybe a different green? Just a thought.
That's so sad! But at least it wasn't completely ruined. Good luck on your first day!
That is the worst story I have ever heard! Not even kidding..talk about nightmare.
Oh no- I never said it's fine.. it's quite ugly... but I tend to like ugly colors unfortunately...
