One week down, infinity to go.
Overall, my first week of work went well. I read lots of "training materials," sat in on lots of meetings, and even did some real work on Wednesday and Thursday. Best part...I got paid to sleep in, watch a movie, and eat a t-bone steak today. Awesome.
On Monday morning the air conditioning was busted at the office. It was sweltering. We are talking sweat dripping down the spine hot. My eyes were glazing over and the room was spinning as I filled out the stack of paperwork with Toby, the HR guy. His name isn't really Toby, but I wish it was. The AC came back on at some point in the day and it hasn't stopped since. My soda stays cold for hours without ice. "The man" gave us an assortment of frozen delicatessens to apologize for the temperature control malfunction. I chose a limecicle. Same thing as an orangecicle, but with lime on the outside instead of orange. Same but different.
Here are a few reasons why my place of employment is better than yours:
Breakfast every Monday morning. Pancakes, pastries, an occasional keish.
All you can drink swigs. Pepsi and Coke products. Diet Coke, Diet Coke with Lime, Diet Coke with Cherry, Coke, Coke Zero, Coke Zero with Cherry. So far Coke Zero with Cherry is my favorite.
M of F. Master of Fun. There are seven people in my posse and we rotate being the M of F each month. We have a budget for this. This month we are going to see Batman.
Summer Fridays. Each month (May-August) we get to take a Friday off. Not a holiday. Not PTO. Just a paid bonus day. I started on June 30th so you might guess that I would only get two of these Fridays. But you are wrong. I get three.
It's 3:07 AM now. I guess I should call it a night. I slept somewhere in the ballpark (it would be funny if I stopped the sentence there) of 12 hours last night and apparently my body thinks that I don't need to sleep tonight because of that. Lame.

That's so cool that you slept in a ballpark. I am trying to convince Monica that we should camp out after an A's game. Maybe if she hears about your positive experience, she'll give me permission. Help please?

YAY for new jobs! I'm so excited for you and for the infinite supply of COKE products. That right there is enough to make one jealous of you! Hope everything is going amazing in your life. Sorry I haven't come to see you in forever. Charity is keeping me busy along with work and school. Miss you too!
