Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's 4_th birthday. We had a fun filled day of celebration in her honor. We started out with lunch at Ruth's Diner up Emigration Canyon. Favorite menu item: This is Almost the Place Burger. Didn't order it, but it was good for a chuckle.

Then we went to the traveling Monet to Picasso exhibit at the U of U Museum of Art. I highly recommend going to anyone in the area. Well worth the $15.

My parents wanted to see my office, so we made a pit stop at McCann for the grand tour, which included a ride in the oldest functioning elevator in Utah...slow and steady wins the race.

We finished off the day with an Olympic themed birthday party. Nothing says Happy Birthday like Chinese food and men's gymnastics. Which brings me to my next topic...

Amanda Phelps...
doesn't that sound good?

I've become a pretty big fan of the Olympics (who isn't) since I was fortunate enough to experience them in my home town in 2002. I can't decide if I like the summer or winter games the best. I think it's more of the spirit of the Olympics that I love. I'm a sucker for the cheesy stuff. Like that adorable Chinese hero that got to hang out with Yao Ming at the opening ceremonies last night.
