Dearest Friends and Family,
Thank you so much for your love and support over the past week. I was not a fun person to be around on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday...but I assure you that I've snapped out of it. This speedy recovery was made possible by your phone calls, text messages, g chats, emails, and multiple outings across the valley.
Warning: The following is a play-by-play of my week. You know that you want to know...
Monday night my roommate, Ashlee, and our neighbors (Holly, Leslie, Paige, and Julia) took me to The Melting Pot for dinner. This outing was originally planned to celebrate the births of Leslie and Paige...but they graciously let me rain on their parade and we had the best pity party ever. These girls really know how to cheer me up. If you ever go there, get the spinach artichoke fondue. You won't regret it. Caution: The cheese is extremely hot when you get to the bottom of the pot. Thanks again ladies! Untz Untz.
On Tuesday my sweet mother took me to lunch at Paradise Bakery. I have a new favorite sandwich there...Turkey California...California Turkey...I don't remember but it was tasty. Then she took me to Target. A less generous mother might have forced me to go to Walmart. But not my mom. She knows that I am a Target snob. Even in this economic climate ("Yes, in all climates. All over the world." I finally caught up on The Office last night). That night, I went over to Corissa's house (my BFF) for dinner. Her hubby made us chicken cordon blue. From scratch. He is a master chef. After dinner and an episode of Friends, we tuned into Biggest Loser. About an hour into it, Corissa and I busted out the Costco brownie bites and the Double Stuff Oreos with a glass of milk. We have no shame. She even let me borrow her new Twilight DVD which I will be watching if I ever finish this longest post known to mankind. Thanks again for having me over Mr. and Mrs. Langheinrich.
Wednesday was a Bad day. With a capital B. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and immediately fell into the pit of despair. Allie took me to lunch at Mimi's Cafe (bran muffin drenched in honey + chicken and fruit + Allie = the best hour of my day). Then I took my baditude over to my parents house, signed up for unemployment benefits, and cried the whole way back to my apartment. A few hours later I swallowed my pride and called my parents to apologize. I was one-uped shortly thereafter when my father arrived at my door with my favorite Jamba Juice in hand.
Apparently a Jamba Juice is equal to happy pills because when I woke up on Thursday I realized that it was pretty great that I didn't have to go to work and my generally cheery disposition had returned. I ran my little heart out at the gym, cleaned my entire apartment, talked on the phone with my brother, learned what every animal and cowboys say from my nephew, and anxiously awaited Colette's arrival. She took me to the Pizza Factory for dinner and then we hit up the new Nordstrom to drool over shoes, shades, Kate Spade bags, and clothes that we can't afford. I also touched the most expensive piece of clothing that I've ever seen. An Armani jacket for $1,615.00...and it wasn't even cute. Just to be sure that we wouldn't wake up hungry in the middle of the night, we went to Red Mango for a little treat. They have a new pomegranate flavor. Mmmm mmm good. We ended the evening by watch a little Office and looking for jobs in Texas. Do you know how much dental hygienists make in Texas? Look it up. Colette is going to be rich.
This morning I woke up to the best email I've ever received from my brother. It is a list of 10 jobs and I really want to post it on my blog but I feel like I should have his approval first...Douglas, did you make it this far? Did you read the whole thing? Can I post it?
Thanks again for keeping me entertained and for making me happy everyone!
Let me know if you find a sweet job for me.
Enjoy conference.
Remember who you are.
Choose the right.
