New Music Thursday

I intended to post this a few Mondays ago...so that it would be New Music Monday because that sounds better, but I've been a little busy so today is the best I can do.

First up, Brandon Flowers. I realize that this will be old news to most of you since his album came out in 2010, but it's new to me. I love it. It's like The Killers (obviously), Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, with a pinch of James Blunt all rolled up into one.

Next we have Death Cab for Cutie. Weirdest name ever. I heard this song on the radio on my way home from work today and it spoke to me:


Finally I give you Rodney Atkins. "Who's that?" you say. So do I. I heard this song on my way home from work twice this week and I just youtubed it only to learn that 1)There is a country singer named Rodney Atikins. 2) Rodney is very attractive. 3) This song has been around since 2008. Where have I been? It's a catchy little tune that gets stuck in your head. Not my favorite song of all time, but it's the motivation I need to get through this week...not that I'm going through H-E-double hockey sticks by any means. Just needing the encouragement.


And if you made it through all of that. I give you Lady A's latest Lady Haze, "Country Club Anthem," which mocks Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem." You may have read my recent rant regarding country rap. This video makes me so happy. Colette, I thought of you at 2:38...and during the whole thing.

Their new album comes out in 2.5 weeks and I can hardly contain my excitement.
