My country tis of thee (TODAY) sweet land of liberty (TODAY) of thee I sing (TODAY)

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. No battle.
Why is it my favorite holiday?

1. The Murray City parade
We sit by some of our family BFFs every year on the corner of State Street and Vine Street. My mom brought a bag of salt water taffy so that Colette and I didn't have to steal the candy from the children.

2. They hand out flags at the beginning of the parade

3. Patriotic clothes
I took this paparazzi shot of my dad crossing the street to join us after completing his first 5K. Great job, Dad!

4. Good friends, good food, good fun

5. The Red Hatters

6. Kankles

7. Our Stake's float

8. Freaky floating heads on a float

9. Jeeps that do tricks

10. Children with the beginnings of rattails/mullets

And that was all before 11:00 AM!

Other reasons include:

11. Watching the History Channel
12. Dutch oven food
13. Playing games at the park
14. Red Vines
15. Fireworks
